You know it seems everyone these days is depressed, and the pharmaceutical companies are only to happy to accommodate.

The market for anti-depresants in 2005 in the US was 19.5B USD, up 15% on the year before.

It seems we've raised entire generations who've graduated from Ritalin to Zoloft.

A while back, any sort of behavior could be excused by ADD and controlled with Ritalin.  Today, depression is our great excuse and SSRIs are our greatest hope.

When I was growing up you could just take your frustration or pain out on someone close by and then instantly feel better.

Today, we're too paranoid, too politically correct and too morally compromised to do anything but keep it all bottled up inside until we go ape-shit on a crowded freeway or find our way to the local pharmacy for our control pills; dispensed in a partnership between international pharmaceutical companies and the US government's guildelines on acceptable insurance-covered treatment.
